Wow, people. Portland has been really good to me so far and I have been incredibly lucky to have met so many talented and generous people working in Portland's theatre and film community. I am super excited to announce lots of awesome updates!!!! Here goes:
1). We Can Speak To The Dead: Things are definitely moving forward for this sci-fi thriller which follows my character, Joyce, as she works to understand what is happening to the world around her after her subversive performance art piece goes much, much deeper than anticipated. Our short film has ben submitted to the Sundance Film Festival and we are eagerly awaiting their response as well as looking forward to more opportunities to submit to other film festivals in the near future. Fingers crossed!
2). On Homestead And Strangers: We finished up filming the bulk of this intimate and deeply moving short a little while back in the beautiful wilderness of a remote Eastern Oregon campsite. This was a one-of-a-kind experience working with a very talented Oregon cast and crew. This story follows a small family on their journey across the Oregon Trail and looks at how they deal with loss, the unknown, and the influence of a stranger in their camp. It is a great script and a very compelling story. We are very close to completion and I hope to have more updates soon!
3). Live From WVL: It's A Wonderful Life: I have been working with Village Players in Beaverton on this challenging and heartwarming script. I play the character of Kitty, a character actor performing with the award-winning WVL radio station in the late 1940's. Unfortunately, nearly the entire regularly scheduled cast has been stuck in a snow storm and won't be able to perform the show that evening though thousands of listeners are tuned in for the broadcast, including a live audience. It is a performance that can not only make or break her career, but also the future of the entire radio station and its staff. With no advance warning Kitty must jump into the fray and voice the performances of 12 different characters from the beloved holiday classic. No pressure, right? Our show runs December 11-19, 2014. Performances will be at 7:30 pm Thursday through Monday with an added 2:00 pm Sunday matinee, as well as two additional 7:30 pm performances Thursday the 18th and Friday the 19th. Come find out if 4 determined radio performers and a pianist can make sure Clarence gets his wings!
4). Three Men On A Horse: Coming Soon! I am very pleased to announce that I will be playing the role of Audrey Trowbridge in Lakewood Theatre Company's production of Three Men On A Horse which will run from March 6- April 12, 2015. This 1930's comedy is filled with laughs as my character struggles to figure out just what is happening to my beloved husband, Erwin. When my mild-mannered spouse becomes entwined with a gang of horse-betting loons with a get-rich-quick scheme, I am given no explanation for his strange new behavior or for his bizarre disappearances. As if that wasn't enough, I am all the while left to deal with my overbearing brother Clarence and his disdainful opinion of Erwin. Needless to say, hijinks ensue!
5). I have also begun a new working on a collaboration involving a new story. I will wear many hats on this one- writing, directing, acting, and more! The brainstorming, writing, and preliminary meetings have already begun. Stay tuned for more!
That's it for now, all! I will share more when I have any updates, pictures, and information. Thanks dudes! :)
